Chapter House is a 1980’s traditional brick built office block with brick parapets and lead soakers that starting to fail, the building was suffering from leaks internally. Some short lengths of coping had been placed over areas as temporary fixes but these too were life expired and failing. The brief was to carry out a survey and design and install new copings to the roof that would prevent further water damage.
Facade Fix Proposal
We surveyed the roof and came up with a sectional interlocking coping system that could be secured to the brickwork without damaging the mortar joints, especially where on a lead cavity tray that also acts like a slip plane. Colour matching the existing window systems we had bespoke copings made from 3mm Aluminium with welded corners and junctions. After 24 months there are no defects reported.
